Our last summer fun before school starts...a trip to the Indiana State Fair!

We took our last day of summer break and headed to the Indiana State Fair...yeah! : ) We all love going there and even though it was hotter than ever, we still had a great time. We were able to take advantage of the $2 per person discount rate today and the $2 fair food specials as well....even had some free ice cream to top it off! We were very sweaty and tired once we headed back home but still had lots of fun to talk about on our way home. And actually we didn't head straight home after our long but fun day but instead heading to Lauren's ice cream social / open house for her kindergarten class! : ) School officially starts tomorrow so our elementary always holds an ice cream social "back to school" kickoff night the night before.....she was so excited! Allie heads to 5th grade this year so her grade doesn't do the ice cream social thing but she still got to go with us since Lauren's class did...not sure if Allie was too excited about tagging along with us!

All in all, a great last day of summer break....I don't think any of us are ready for school to start back up again but it looks like it's arrived anyway! Now to make the most of it and have an awesome first day back!

Camping Trip with Nana & Papa to Springmill State Park....

We finally were able to fit into our busy summer calendar a weekend to get away and go camping with Nana & Papa! We ended up meeting them down at Springmill State Park and had a blast! They have such a nice 5th wheel camper with all the amenities of home so Jason teases me that it's not really"camping" but it sure is my kind of "camping" with A/C included! : ) We took the girls bikes so we were able to get in some bike riding, along with fun playing at several really nice playgrounds at the campground, as well as two days of swimming, a nice campfire for smores at night and lots of time to just hang out and enjoy being with Nana & Papa! Always a great time! Now counting down our last few days until school starts, always exciting to start a new school year but kind of sad that our summer days are coming to a close so soon....just trying to get as much fun in over this next week as we can! : )
