Allie and her golf game!!!

Allie has started her golf career at Mooresville Jr. High and she is doing great and better yet, she is really loving it!  : )  We are so proud of her determination, her discipline, her perseverance....and her talent!  She is taking after her Daddy with this sport!  I would like to take some credit for it....but I won't! ha!!!!  Here are a couple of pics from her first match.  Although I miss the days of my kiddos being sweet babies, I am really enjoying this stage of life as well......watching my "baby" growing up and having fun seeing her playing a sport she loves!  FORE!!!!!!!  ; )  Get ready LPGA, my girl is headed your way!!!!

Lauren's 8th Birthday Celebration! : )

Happy birthday to our sweet lovable Lauren Elizabeth!  You are just a few days from turning 8 years old and Mommy just cannot believe that!  : )  You are growing up so quickly.  You are our "middle" girlie.....a perfect and unique combination of both sides of our family for sure!  Because Lauren is "growing up", she decided to host a friend birthday party at the rec ctr at our church this year and make it into a "salon" party so we had fun with manicures, massages, decorating purses, trying on fashions, and doing our makeup.....such fun!!!  Then we also hosted a family party to round out the birthday fun.  Nothing better than celebrating the day another sweet daughter was added to our family.....happy 8th birthday Lauren Elizabeth Massey.....you are a joy to us!!!  : ) 

First Day of School for 2012!!!!

The big day has finally arrived......the first day of school for Allison and Lauren!!!  Allie started 7th grade and JR HIGH today!!!  Woooohoooo! She was a bit nervous but overall.....very excited!  I cannot believe my baby is growing up!  So proud of the sweet young lady that she is becoming.  Prayed for her this morning that God would protect her, bless her, use her and grow her into His image during this wonderful time in her life.  I cannot wait for her to get home today so I can hear all about her new school and new season of life! 

Now for Lauren's turn.....she began the life of a 2nd grader today!  We went to the "Back to School" night last night at her school and she got to meet her teacher, find her desk and bring in all of her new school supplies....so FUN!  She has a wonderful teacher and a great friend that she knows really well already in her class so I know she is going to have an awesome year!  I also prayed for her this morning that God would bless her and protect her and that she would LOVE this year at school! 

Katelyn.....my sweet girl.....she heads to her "parents day out" at school next week and this year, she begins 2 days a week there.....yeah!  : )  But for this week, we are just enjoying spending some one-on-one time together.....for next year she heads to "big" school too....oh my!  Let's not jump ahead of ourselves.....enjoy every single moment.....it all goes by so quickly.  I am so blessed and so very thankful......

Wow....is summer really almost over already??!!

Ugh....don't answer that question for me....I'm in complete denial....as usual!  I....love.....summer.  Plain and simple.  I'm a sucker for staying up late, sleeping in, hanging out with my girlies, no set schedules (or atleast very few!) swimming, playdates with friends, sleepovers, grilling out, and the list goes on and on.  So when the beginning of the schoolyear comes around every year, I always get a bit bummed that another summer has come and gone.  But I also LOVE fall.....so there are more great things to look forward to!  And although my girlies also love having no schedules and hanging together for the summer, I think they also all look forward to getting back into the swing of our school schedules!  We have a week left of this summer so we are spending it with some shopping and hanging out time!  : )  Nothing better.  Here's to the last few days of this wonderful season......

Allie's church camp! Camp Tippy 2012!!!

This year Allie was "officially" too old to head to Camp Friendship with me so she headed to the jr. high camp (can not believe that!) in North Webster, IN called Camp Tippy.  She had an awesome time....her only complaint....well, one of just a couple...."too many HUGE spiders" and "scalding hot showers"....which led her to take only 1 shower the entire week.....giving me my only one complaint once she got home....nasty feet that headed straight for our shower once she walked in our door!!!  : )  But what a wonderful blessing to have her spend time with great leaders from our church, learning from others and growing in God!  So thankful for that....and for her excitement for what God is doing in her life this summer!

Camp Friendship 2012!!!

The time for one of my favorite weeks of the year has come and gone!  Last week I had the privelege to head down to Versailles, IN for our church's 3rd/4th/5th grade kiddos summer Camp Friendship!!  I have gone down there as a counselor now for several years and each year I think it just can't get any better and then God shows up in bigger ways each time!  How wonderful it is to share the gospel with these sweet kiddos.  We are able to spend time with them in hiking, swimming, playing games, making crafts, enjoying sports, worshipping together, learning God's Word together.....so many opportunities to love on them while having tons of fun too!!!  I always come back re-energized for God while a bit tired physically too!  Just so happy and thankful to have had another year of awesome times there this year.....and ready to begin the countdown for next year soon!  : ) 

Summer is for SLOWING DOWN and HAVING FUN!!!

We are loving this summer!  I have tried for the last couple of years to seriously slow things down around the Massey house....whether it is summer or not.....but especially during the summer season.  Why run around like a chicken with your head cut off and not enjoy life, one day at a time?  Life is just too short to stress.....  Now, I know you are asking if you are a busy mama like me...."What???!!  Has she officially lost her mind??!!" But seriously.....I read an awesome book about a year ago called "Breathe" that really helped give me a much better, BIBLICAL perspective on slowing life down.  I'm so happy that God placed that book into my life because even though our lives are still a bit crazy, the overall "feel" of things around here is so much better and my perspective, although sometimes not right away...tends to adjust and help me realize how precious life is and how crazy things can get when we try to fit too many things into it.  Ok, enough of my soapbox and sermon for the day....not sure where that came from other than to talk about how awesome this summer is for us and how much we are enjoying the times together.  Long sunny days, perfectly hot weather for swimming, great food on the grill, late nights watching movies, lots and lots of bike rides, the list just goes on and on.  Thank you Lord for our many blessings....especially summer break!  : )
