A Massey Family Easter! (and our 12 year wedding anniversary!)

Greetings everyone and happy Easter! I love this holiday, with spring around the corner and the reminder of the cross and what Jesus did for us. Our girls love the egg hunts and candy but are also understanding the meaning of it all -- Lauren shared with us this week about what she is learning lately and insisted that "Jesus lives on the cross" and that the linen piece of cloth that she got at church recently that was supposed to represent the cloths that they wrapped Jesus' body in was really just his "blankie"! She's almost getting it! : ) Allison was a great big sister as always and asked why the Easter bunny didn't leave baby Katelyn a treat. Oops! : ) But Katelyn survived and made up for it while enjoying being loved on by the family for most the day! We spent Sunday after church at Grandma and Papa's lake house for dinner and our annual egg hunt. It was a bit chilly but nice and sunny. And, this year, we celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary on the same day as Easter. So we spent a romantic date of hanging out with our 3 kids and the rest of our entire family together! Here are a few pictures from the day. And please take notice that the Massey ladies were all dressed in pink this year so of course, Daddy had to wear a pink tie to complete the ensemble! Love it!! : )

Fun at the museum!

We spent last weekend celebrating Daddy's birthday (we'll be nice to him and we won't disclose his age!) with a surprise dinner at home, special dessert of strawberries and chocolate and a day out at the museum with his three princesses (and Mama the Queen!). He said he had a great birthday and wouldn't have it any other way! The girls always have lots of fun at the Childrens Museum and Katelyn seemed to enjoy her first trip there too. Oh and Daddy also got to finally order his basketball goal for our driveway so that made him pretty happy too! Here are a few pictures from lately....enjoy!

More pics of Katelyn.....she's almost 6 weeks old!

Katelyn is still growing like crazy and doing great! She's sleeping 4 hours at a time at night so Mommy can't complain too much and she's so cute, we don't mind getting up in the middle of the night to feed her! : ) Here are a few new pics to share.....

Allison Turns 8!!!

Just seems like yesterday when our little Allie was born.....now she hit the big 8! WOW! We celebrated with a family party at our house (complete w/ a Hannah Montana cake of course!) and then the next weekend, we headed to the mall for her "friend" party at Build-A-Bear followed by a pizza lunch in the food court and icecream cake back at home...whew! Made for a couple of very busy weekends but lots of laughs and smiles! She's already planning for next year's party!

Our litte Katelyn is 3 weeks old!

Hey everyone! Hard to believe that our little Katelyn is already 3 weeks old! She is doing great and getting bigger every day. She loves to look around and check everything out and is becoming more aware of her surroundings. She seems to be very curious! : ) We had a birthday party for Allison (she turned 8 this week, can't believe it!) at our house over the weekend and Katelyn seemed to enjoy all of the attention she got! Here are a few pictures of her from this week......

More pics of Katelyn!

All is WONDERFUL at the Massey house.....adjusting to life w/ 3 little girls and enjoying every minute of it! Katelyn is doing great....sleeping atleast 3 hours at a time and then waking up to eat and take in as much as she can....she seems very alert and curious. She had her first bath at home last night and liked it as long as she could just sit there but she wasn't crazy about the washing part! : ) Her sisters are head over heels with her and she is being smothered with love!

Welcome To The World KATELYN GRACE MASSEY

What a crazy day!! Shell gave birth to our 3rd Daughter this past Tuesday, 1/29/08 at 10:46 am. Yes, this was a scheduled c-section for Thursday, 1/31/08 but Katelyn had other plans. Around 5 am Tuesday morning Shell woke me, from a deep sleep, with mild contractions. By 6:15 am the contractions had progressed and were approximately 3-4 minutes apart. We arrived at the hospital at 7 am and by 9:30 Shell's water had broke and she was in "heavy" labor. That's when the fun really began, I (Daddy) ended up passing out from watching to much needle/vein action and ended up being checked out in the ER while Shell was experiencing heavy labor and Katelyn's heart rate was dropping. They rushed me through the ER and by the time I got back we were ready for surgery. Things happened very quick. Following the C-Section Katelyn and Mom were doing great and recovering. Katelyn weighed in at 5 lbs. 4 oz. & 18.5 inches in length. Small, but healthy as could be. Would you expect anything bigger from Shell and I! Everyone is doing great and we expect to be home this Friday, 2/1/08. Allison and Lauren are extremely excited and can't wait to get home and spoil her rotten. More pictures are soon to come! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!!!
