Lauren Elizabeth turns 9!!!!

Our sweet Lauren officially turned 9 (almost double digits!!) over the weekend. Mama was able to take cupcakes in to school for her and her friends (always fun!) and then she had 5 of her bestest friends over Friday night for her first "real" slumber party!!! They had pizza, watched a movie, made bracelets, ate lots of candy and giggled til 2am!!! Oh my! So sweet to see her having so much fun with her friends! Lauren, you are growing up too fast girlie : ) we love how fun you are to be with. You have such a cute and contagious smile, including that dimple! You love to sing, make music, and laugh. But you also have a sincere heart and can be serious and concerned at just the right times : ) You have a way of saying exactly whats on your mind, which usually makes us smile. And you are excited to learn new things this year in 3rd grade both at school & church and because you are getting older, you love what lies ahead for you! I love that about you! You are such an incredible blessing to have in our family! Happy 9th birthday Lauren Elizabeth, with bunches of love!

Massey Family Vacation!!!

We enjoyed a week away of camping, starting in Michigan, along the coast and then ending back in Indiana at Indiana Beach and Lake Shafer!  After having been gone to church camp for a week, then Daddy gone on business for a week, we were more than ready to spend time as a family and it was an awesome time together!  Plenty of games played, bicycles ridden, smores eaten, swimming completed, dune rides together, beach playing, amusement park conquered, water slides mastered, golf played, laughs shared and memories made!!!  Now to enjoy the last two weeks of the summer before school starts again......lovin life.....

Church Camp 2013!!!!

I had the awesome privelege and blessing to head to Camp Friendship again this year and serve in the capacity of a camp counselor to some amazing kiddos last week.  I always anticipate a wonderful week and then come home even more amazed at how big God is and how wonderful He works in not only the kiddos lives there but also mine!  No words can explain how great it is to hang out with the kids, the counselors, the jr. counselors, the church staff there, the cooks, etc.....  Fun times laughing, amazing times worshipping God, wonderfully sweet times in His Word, great times growing together.  Thank you Lord for another wonderful year of camp.  To God be the Glory....great things He has done and continues to do.....

Fun in Vegas!!!

Jason and I were able to make a business trip of his into a wonderful getaway for us!  YEAH!!  He had a big trade show out in Vegas so he convinced me to tag along....tough job but I did it!  ; )  haha!  It was a great time for us to spend time together all while being able to also hang out with his boss and his wife, the couple that owns the company, and a few others with his company too!  And seeing how hard my husband has worked and how much they appreciate all that he has done makes me so proud.  What a  man!  The girls also had tons of fun while we were gone.  They spent the first part of the week with Nana and Papa at their house.  They were able to go swimming @ Jason's aunt & uncle's house, spend time with their aunt, uncle and cousins, shop with Nana and just enjoy hanging out with Nana and Papa! Then they headed back here and spent the last couple of days we were gone hanging out with Grandma, Shelby and Abby (cousins on my side of the family).  FUN!  Grandma took them to the library and the swimming pool, so fun!  Here are a few pics of our fun in Vegas.  And we still have another month of summer fun coming.....lovin life.....

Summer happenings @ the Massey house....

We are enjoying our summer so far.  Lots of hanging out, riding bikes, playing outside, eating popsicles, playing games, watching movies, ....well, you get the idea : )  The girls are enjoying not having too many "time commitments" this summer.  We have a few activities going on but compared to the school year, summer is mostly about relaxing and taking it easy with our schedules!  Allie did go to church camp a couple of weeks ago and of course, she loved it!  Katie just completed soccer camp at our church rec ctr. for a week and that was fun.  And Allie is doing a few golf lessons and team practices before her fall season starts up.  Oh and Lauren just finished her spring session for her dance studio.  Her recital to end her dance year this year was wonderful.  She did such a good job and looked so grown up on stage!  Loved seeing her show us her dance moves!  Now to spend a few days chilling out before the girls enjoy a few days @ Nana & Papa's house while Mommy & Daddy head to Las Vegas for a little getaway!! WOOOHOOO!  Fun times are happening with the Massey family!!!  Stay tuned....more to come....  : )

Another school year is done....and our 1st camping trip of the summer!!!

Well, it's officially SUMMER!!!  WOOOHOOO!  Katie finished up preschool so she heads to kindergarten in the fall, Lauren completed a great year @ 2nd grade so she will be a 3rd grader soon and Allie made her way thru 7th grade in an awesome way so she enters 8th grade in just a few short months!  Whew!  All three girls had another great school year.....learning tons, making lots of new friends, and staying strong til the end!  : )  We were especially proud of Lauren who received the "Most Improved In all Subjects" in her class this year!  YEAH!!  To help kick off our summer, we just logged our very 1st family camping trip and it goes down as a huge success and tons of fun!  We left Friday afternoon, after the girls' last day of school for the school year (what better way to start the summer, right??!!) and headed south to Patoka Lake.  They have a huge park, acres of campground, a beach, a gigantic lake and an awesome place to just hang out as a family together!  The camper did great.  No problems at all pulling it with the minivan.  We have Daddy to thank for his great driving skills : )  We spent almost 4 full days there and our fun included a gazillion bike rides around the cul-de-sac that our camp site was on, many campfires with s'mores (I'm not divulging how many I ate, thank you very much), three late nights of movie-watching in the camper, a couple of trips to the beach (and all three girls and Dad got in the very cold water....mama...not so much....) a bunch of good food eaten, a visit from Nana and Papa, and so many great family memories made.  I am so thankful for Jason working so hard to be able to purchase this camper for us.  Material things do not whatsoever at all make the memories....but this one is definitely helping us to have a great time together as a family!  And I'm so proud of him doing this for us.  And just as a sidenote....I have to include that he bought this with cash!  Not adding that in a 'braggy' way but just so happy for him as the leader of our home to be able to put his hard work in to this for us!  And pulling a Dave Ramsey purchase on top of it.....wooohooo!!!  Now on to enjoying some more summer time together and just loving the laid-back lifestyle of it all.....ahhhhh!
